About the conversation

What is a Perspective Conversation?

It is a private conversation with an experienced professional who understands difficult moments at work because they have lived through similar situations.

Your Perspective Guide will listen, ask thoughtful questions and help you examine your situation from an independent point of view. The aim is to help you think more clearly—not to give you a ready-made answer.

Is this therapy?

No. been there is not therapy, counselling or mental-health treatment.

Perspective Guides do not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions. If you need clinical, medical or emergency support, you should speak with a qualified mental-health professional.

Will my Guide tell me whether I should quit?

No. Your Guide will not make the decision for you.

They may help you examine the facts, your assumptions, available options and the possible consequences of each choice. The final decision will always remain yours.

What situations can I discuss?

You can speak about a difficult boss or colleague, feeling overlooked or unfairly treated, deciding whether to stay or resign, workplace conflict, office politics, burnout, loss of confidence, a missed promotion or any other difficult moment at work.

You do not need to wait until the situation becomes a crisis.

Do I need to know exactly what I want to ask?

No. You may arrive with a specific decision, a complicated situation or simply a feeling that something is not right.

Part of the conversation is helping you untangle what is happening and identify the question you actually need to think about.

Guides and matching

Who are the Perspective Guides?

Perspective Guides are experienced professionals who have spent years navigating the realities of corporate life.

They are selected not only for their professional experience, but also for their judgment, empathy and ability to listen without imposing their own agenda.

Can I choose my Perspective Guide?

No. For your first conversation, been there will select the person we believe is the best match for your situation.

Every request is personally reviewed. We consider the nature of your situation and the Guide’s experience before making the match.

Why can’t I choose from a list of Guides?

A popular profile or impressive designation does not necessarily make someone the right person for your situation.

Instead of leaving the decision to profiles, ratings or algorithms, been there takes responsibility for making a thoughtful match based on what you are going through.

Can I book the same Guide again?

Yes. If you book another session, we will try to match you with the same Guide on a best-effort basis, subject to their availability.

If the same Guide is unavailable, we can offer another suitable match. If you do not wish to proceed with someone else, the fee paid for that second session will be refunded in full.

Privacy and confidentiality

Is my conversation confidential?

Yes. Your conversation is completely confidential.

We will not share what you discuss with your employer, manager, colleagues or other third parties. Sessions are not recorded.

Will my employer know that I contacted been there?

No. been there will not contact your employer or disclose that you requested a conversation.

Only the information needed to arrange and conduct your conversation will be shared with your Perspective Guide.

Price and value

Is this a paid service?

Yes. The fee is ₹5,100 for a 40-minute Perspective Conversation and a 20-minute follow-up within 30 days.

Why should I pay ₹5,100 for a conversation?

Consider how much time the situation is already taking from you. If you spend even 30 minutes a day replaying conversations, questioning your judgment or worrying about what to do, that becomes 15 hours over a month. The cost can also show up in your sleep, confidence, productivity and ability to make a considered decision.

The fee gives you focused time with a carefully matched, experienced professional who has no personal stake in your decision—followed by another conversation after you have had time to reflect. We cannot promise a particular answer or outcome. What we offer is a structured opportunity to step out of the mental loop and look at your situation more clearly.

What if I do not find the conversation valuable?

If, after the conversation, you do not feel it provided sufficient value, complete a short feedback form and we will refund 50% of the fee.

The feedback helps us understand what did not work and improve the quality of future conversations.

Can you guarantee that I will leave with an answer?

No. Some workplace situations cannot be resolved in one conversation.

We can promise attentive listening, thoughtful questions and an independent perspective. We cannot guarantee a particular decision, promotion, resignation or workplace outcome.
